English Literacy and Civics Project
Overview and Objectives
In partnership with the Vineland, NJ, Public School System, CHS administered a comprehensive program of instruction in English-as-a-second language for foreign-born adults; civics instruction in US history, governance, and democracy; assistance with preparation for the US naturalization test; and training in job skills and strategies. We also provided assistance with social and health-related issues and provided day-care while the parents studied.
