HCD – Human and Community Development: Skills for Employability and Productivity
This project is an extension of the MCC funded “The Skills for Employability and Productivity Project in Côte d’Ivoire”. Over the past year, URC exceeded the targets and expectations of MCC in Côte d’Ivoire.
The proposed objectives for the project are to improve the employability of Ivoirians and enhance the productivity of the private sector through improving the quality, supply of and access to – Basic skills and soft skills and Technical skills in response to sector demand.
The project conducted comprehensive assessments, in-depth stakeholder analysis and mapping and recommended a strategic package of activities to improve the relevance and quality of and access to the Ivorian Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET) and Secondary Education so that the systems are better able to meet the demanded of the private sector.
During the extension period, URC continued to support MCC and MCA to design a comprehensive education-focused quality improvement (QI) package, created monitoring and evaluation system for the implementation and sustainability of the project, and developed a terms of reference (TORs) for project implementation for the compact over the next five years.
